"He Purgeth It" Current mood: grateful
"Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he takethaway; and every branch that beareth fruit he purgethit, that it may bring forth more fruit" (John 15:2).There's a time for planting & a time for pruning. Perhaps God is at work in your life today taking awaybranches that don't belong, and pruning ones that do. What kind of things does God take away? Things thathave served their purpose. Things that refuse tochange. Things that will give you trouble later on. Things that are standing in the way of greaterfruitfulness. Things that are holding you back. Things He has not chosen for you.Have you ever seen a newly pruned tree? Doesn't looktoo good, does it? And when God starts to cut backcertain things in your life in order to re-directyour energies, you won't look too good either. Sometimes this means: having fewer things for awhile;letting go of things you thought would always bethere; being unable to explain to others why your'eeven going through the pruning process.God knows what needs to be CUT BACK in your life. Healso knows what needs to be CUT OFF. Trust HIM. Eventhough you can't understand what's going on, pray"Lord, if I needed it You would let me keep it, so Iopen my hand today. Send whoever You will and takeaway whoever you will. I'll praise you when they comeand I'll praise you when they go, because YOURapproval is my reward, and YOUR purpose is my reasonto live."
